Food is medicine. Food is also connection — to one’s entire life, including emotions, mood, and mind. It has been described that food choices drive mood, and mood shifts may alter food selections. In this presentation, learn about the cutting-edge published science that supports the interrelationship between food and mood, and how to apply these findings in everyday life through creative, evidence-based techniques. Attendees will gather insights about the role of nutrition in mental health, how stress and emotions mediate one’s relationship with food, and, finally, a definition of emotional eating and strategies to overcome challenges in this area.
