My stepmother is 25 years into MS and is in a wheel chair (about 5 years) and has some limited mobility with hands. I just visited her (I live 5 hrs away) and she can still handle a fork. She lives alone (she has nurse support) and doesn't eat a lot. She also just had a lumpectomy caught very early, but this will be hard on her. I've sent her information on the Wahls Protocol for years, but try not to be too pushy about it. She has never tried any of it. When I visited, I was with my niece, and all of us have autoimmune issues. As we were talking about being gluten free, my stepmom seemed a bit more open to it. Do you have any suggestions for being supportive of her from afar? I wondered if finding a local paleo meal service would help? She qualifies for meals on wheels, but as far as getting her more nutrient rich foods, it might not provide that. I'm dealing with brain fog and Graves, so I can only imagine how difficult it is for her. She generally has a lot of life stressors that make things worse.
