Hello! First of all, Thanks Dr Wahls for sharing your wealth of knowledge based from your personal experience!
I started getting some PPMS symptoms a few months ago which have worsened though my diagnosis is not complete at this point. My initial symptoms were in Sept.
Brain MRI in Nov showed "clear". I have an ENT appointment this week due to fluid fullness of ears, but it takes a while to see a neurologist in Canada.
I ordered and digested the Wahls' protocol quickly and have been learning my way through autoimmune diet as I figured it could help with whatever the underlying issue is in my body.
Recently I've moved into a hybrid of elimination diet. I'm currently cutting out all grains, sugars (other than a cup or two of berries a day and Kombucha occasionally), dairy, and gluten. My diet consists of organic meat and veggies as well as all of the recommended add-in's from the book (Mitochondrion smoothies with PC..etc)
I've noticed, only since changing my diet/onset, my skin is very sensitive to touch (drying off with a towel can cause redness). And certain foods have caused redness on my back and chest. It isn't itchy or uncomfortable.
When I first started taking Cod liver oil, it would get red, but now it seems to be OK. Also, the redness would start again when I first started eating organ meat, but seems to be fine now as well, but randomly the skin will become red.
I also had to stop taking Collagen because of my body's reaction to it. I plan to take a food sensitivity test ASAP but just wondered if you had any wisdom of what could be causing the redness. Foods that I previously would have never caused redness (before onset) will now cause.
Luke, food sensitivity testing sounds like a good idea and working with your personal medical team. It could be a food sensitivity, it could be histamine reactions. It sounds like you are doing a good job listening to your body's personal response to foods.
In health
