Hello everyone!
I was diagnosed with MS in June 2021. Upon diagnosis, I was told to take medicine and that's all the help/information I ever got. In the mean time, a family friend introduced me to the Wahls Protocol and I was hooked. I chose to not start the medicine and focused on the protocol.
I switched to a MS specialist when my fatigue started to shut down my life, and my new specialist wasn't very familiar with the protocol and didn't provide any helpful solutions for my fatigue. I am now on Paleo Plus and usually feel better, but I would still like to have a doctor that believes in what I'm doing but can provide medical advice beyond the Wahls Protocol.
Anyways after going through two neurologists that haven't been the support I need, I am here to ask you.
How and where do you go to get the medical support you need beyond the Wahls Protocol?
I know that doctor Wahl has a list of practitioners, but I don't know what qualifications I should be choosing for and would like to know what works for other people?
Allie, I understand how frustrating it can be not to have good support from our medical team. My MS specialist was never helpful but I hear rumors now that she is very supportive of the Wahls protocol after witnessing my success. I moved and no longer see her. I have had the best luck using functional medicine practitioners. Mine is not a neurologist but she is very helpful. You can search for a functional medicine practitioner in your area herehttps://www.ifm.org/find-a-practitioner/
There is a functional neurologist in Missouri that people travel from all over to see. He is a big supporter of the Wahls protocol®https://functionalmedicine.doctor
