In this presentation, Dr.Pospisil will examine facial development in humans, past and present. How did we go from having naturally straight teeth in our ancestors to crowded teeth and under developed jaws in well over half of our children today? The traditional and easy way of thinking is that our genetics have crippled us into big teeth and small jaws. Dr.Pospisil will explore alternative explanations to this phenomenon and discuss how dentists and physicians can screen children help them grow in the right direction toward our full genetic potential.
There will also be discussion on Traditional Orthodontics vs. Orthotropics/Forwardontics: their similarities and differences.
